David Norman. Water colour workshop.  Saturday 5th November.

A group of Totnes Art Society members enjoyed our long-awaited full day watercolour workshop with David Norman.                    It was a delight to spend the day with David. His vast experience with this medium has encouraged us to experiment                   with our palates, and the loosening up of our approach in general. All members completed several exercises                             during the day, cumulating with a simple technique in the late afternoon which will possibly inspire all                                         to rethink the way in which most of us construct our paintings. It will certainly affect the way in which I will plan                            my future applications of both paint and water. I have now several projects I cannot wait to get started on.                               Many thanks on behalf of us all David for your time and expertise. A brilliant day enjoyed by all.

What a brilliant way to draw our 2022 workshop season to a close. Louise managed 2 demonstrations during the day.

Her particular palette of colours for dominant ultimate spring skies were put to good practise with our group,

emulating her techniques of abundant water and looseness of brush strokes. We were all able to capture

the intriguing atmosphere of clouds intermingled with flashes of light cerulean blue skies, whilst raw sienna washes

produced glowing effects of sunlight. Yet another level of dexterity to add to our growing level of competence,

enabling us to keep producing an enhanced level of freshness so vital in producing quality watercolours.

Well done, Louise.  Many thanks for a super day, enjoyed by all.
